Come on down to Vamos for a night of delicious wine and food. This week we have a selection of amazing Chilean wines, all paired with some delicious tapas from our kitchen.

Rothschild Mapu Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Central Valley. A bright, glittering yellow. The powerful and expressive nose opens on grapefruit aromas, going on to develop white peach and toasted almond notes. From a fresh and complex attack, the crisp and rich mid-palate reveals tropical fruit and mango flavours followed by toasted notes. The flavours linger on the long and well-balanced finish.The wine is matured in vats for a relatively short period of around six months in order to preserve all its freshness and fruit.

Mapu Reserva Chardonnay 2015

Central Valley. A bright, glittering yellow. The powerful and expressive nose opens on grapefruit aromas, going on to develop white peach and toasted almond notes. From a fresh and complex attack, the crisp and rich mid-palate reveals tropical fruit and mango flavours followed by toasted notes. The flavours linger on the long and well-balanced finish. The grapes are hand-picked then brought to the bodega. They are hand-sorted several times then destemmed and lightly crushed before vinification. The wine is matured in vats for a relatively short period of around six months in order to preserve all its freshness and fruit. 12% vol.

Maquis Malbec Rosé 2014

Colchagua Valley. A beautiful pale, pink colour. Elegant on the nose with intense aromas of crunchy cranberries and wild strawberries over a floral background. On the palate this wine is juicy and fresh with a clean and persistent finish.

Short maceration following destemming and crushing of the grapes. Cold soak of the drained juice. Natural clarification of the grape juice and gentle selection. Fermentation temperatures between 12 and 16 degrees.12% vol. Best served at 8°-10°C

Millaman Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2015

Central Valley. Attractive nose, good complexity, red fruits like raspberries and cherries well accompanied by touches of spicy and floral tones. Well balanced acidity gives this wine juicy. Medium bodied, rounded and soft with a long and pleasant aftertaste. It is a wine to enjoy now but it will improve in the bottle. 15% of the blend aged in second use barrels during 4 months.

Rothschild Anderra Carménère 2015

Central Valley. Attractive, bright and intense, with a purple tint. The attack is complex, fresh and very smooth. Underpinned by silky tannins, the mid-palate reveals aromatic bilberry, black cherry and fresh spice flavours harmoniously combined with notes of toasted almond and mocha. The long and balanced finish expresses all the class of Chilean Carménère. In order to give the wine its fruit-driven, complex style, about half the vintage is matured in oak for six to eight months before bottling. The wines are matured at the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile bodega, whose sober and elegant architecture combining wood and steel symbolises the alliance between state-of-the-art technology and the great Bordeaux winemaking tradition.
